The film stars Eiza González and Aaron Paul, and follows a woman who awakens on a distant planet to find her crew slaughtered, leading to a harrowing ordeal of trust and survival. Flying Lotus described the process of scoring the film as both inspiring and challenging, drawing from renowned synth composers like John Carpenter and Vangelis to create a unique sound. He has released the lead single 'Oxygene' from the soundtrack, which features a blend of dark synths and melodic elements. The soundtrack includes a total of 27 tracks, showcasing collaborations with other artists. Following its theatrical run, 'Ash' will be available on the horror-themed streaming service Shudder.
