Runway Launches $5 Million Film Fund

Runway, a generative AI company, has launched The Hundred Film Fund, offering filmmakers grants of up to $1 million for projects utilizing its AI technology. The fund, currently set at $5 million with potential growth to $10 million, aims to support a variety of film formats including features, shorts, documentaries, and music videos. In addition to cash grants, filmmakers can also receive up to $2 million in Runway service credits to aid in production. The initiative is designed to address gaps in traditional film funding, particularly for innovative and experimental projects that may be overlooked. An advisory panel featuring industry leaders, such as Tribeca Festival's co-founder Jane Rosenthal and musician will.i.am, will guide selected projects.
