Ukraine Allies Expected to Finalize Security Guarantees After Peace Agreement

French President Emmanuel Macron announced that European leaders, in coordination with the United States, are finalizing security guarantees for Ukraine that will be implemented once a peace agreement is signed. These guarantees include military support, potential deployment of ground troops for peacekeeping, and political backing to ensure a stable peace in Ukraine. The preparations, developed under strict secrecy by military chiefs since the Ukraine summit in August, are now ready for political approval, signaling a strong commitment from an alliance of about 30 nations known as the Coalition of the Willing. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte expressed optimism that the coalition will soon finalize the details of these security guarantees, with further engagement expected with the U.S. Estonia has also indicated readiness to contribute troops to a European peacekeeping force. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky welcomed the progress, emphasizing that the guarantees represent tangible support rather than symbolic promises.
