Sai Sudharsan in Ranji Trophy
B Sai Sudharsan achieved his maiden first-class double century, remaining unbeaten on 202, as Tamil Nadu posted a commanding 379 for 1 against Delhi in their Ranji Trophy match. Sudharsan's innings included a 168-run opening partnership with N Jagadeesan (65) and an unbroken 211-run stand with Washington Sundar (96 not out). Despite Delhi's bowlers initially posing a challenge, Sudharsan capitalized on mediocre spin bowling later in the game. The pitch, misread by Delhi captain Himmat Singh, turned out to be flat despite a thick grass covering. Sudharsan's performance not only showcased his talent but also left an impression on Gujarat Titans Director of Cricket, Vikram Solanki, who was in attendance. His achievement positions him as a strong contender for the third opener spot in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Series against Australia.
