Broncos Win 18-15 on Last-Second Field Goal
The Denver Broncos defeated the Houston Texans 18-15, capped by Wil Lutz’s 34-yard field goal as time expired. The win extended Denver’s winning streak to six games and improved the team to 7-2 (4-0 this season when trailing entering the fourth quarter). Bo Nix, who struggled early, threw two touchdown passes and scrambled late to set up the game-winner, while rookie receiver RJ Harvey became the first Broncos rookie with touchdown catches in three straight games. Denver’s defense again carried the team, holding Houston to five field goals, recording four sacks and limiting third-down conversions despite missing All-Pro CB Pat Surtain II and returner Marvin Mims Jr. to injury. Special teams were uneven, featuring a muffed punt by Michael Bandy and an earlier blocked field goal, and questions persisted about Sean Payton’s play-calling and offensive balance despite the late resilience.
