Brockton Man Charged in Shooting of Easton Teen

Eighteen-year-old Anthony Lopes from Brockton has been arrested in connection with the shooting of a 16-year-old girl outside the Avalon apartment complex in Easton on January 14. Lopes faces multiple charges including assault and battery with a firearm, armed robbery, and possession of a large capacity firearm. The victim was shot in the face and initially sustained life-threatening injuries but is now reported to be in serious but stable condition at a Boston hospital. Police believe the shooting was targeted and have surveillance footage to support their investigation. Lopes was apprehended after a traffic stop, where he attempted to flee, and a firearm was recovered at the scene. He is currently held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing scheduled for February 7.
