HCL Technologies has appointed Shiv Walia as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective September 6, 2024, following the resignation of Prateek Aggarwal, who has held the position since October 2018. The decision was made during a Board of Directors meeting and follows recommendations from the Nomination & Remuneration and Audit Committees. Walia, who has been with HCL since 1993 and currently serves as Corporate Vice President & Global Head of FP&A and Business Finance Operations, is expected to leverage his extensive industry experience to guide the company amid ongoing technological shifts. Aggarwal will remain in his role until the transition date and expressed gratitude for his time at HCLTech. The change comes during a period of significant leadership turnover in the Indian IT sector, particularly among CFOs. HCLTech shares closed 0.61% higher following the announcement.
