Young Thug Holds Anti-Violence Rally Atlanta Courthouse
Rapper Young Thug, whose real name is Jeffery Williams, held a surprise anti-violence rally and free pop-up concert outside the Fulton County Courthouse in Atlanta on September 28, 2025. This courthouse had been the site of his lengthy 2022 trial under Georgia's RICO Act, where he was accused of co-founding a criminal gang linked to violent crimes, and after a record-breaking trial, he took a plea deal resulting in a 40-year sentence with five years to serve, later commuted to the time already served. The event, described by the Fulton County Sheriff's Office as an anti-violence, anti-gun, and anti-gang rally, featured Young Thug performing several songs and urging attendees to choose peace and avoid a life of crime. Despite being banned from living in Atlanta until 2027 as part of his probation, he was allowed to attend limited events like this rally and used the platform to reflect on his past and advocate for non-violence. The performance was both a personal statement and a community initiative, aiming to inspire young people to avoid the criminal justice system. His recent album release, featuring prominent artists, coincided closely with this event, marking his return to the music scene post-release.
