Man Arrested for 2022 Electra Fire in California

Danny Killion, a 39-year-old man from Yuba City, has been arrested for allegedly starting the Electra Fire on July 4, 2022, which burned approximately 4,470 acres in Amador and Calaveras counties. The fire prompted evacuations and trapped around 100 people temporarily in a PG&E powerhouse, although no structures were reported damaged. Killion was charged with arson, recklessly causing a fire, and two counts of child abuse, with no further details on how the fire was ignited released at this time. The blaze was fully contained by July 28, 2022, after threatening over 1,200 structures and leaving around 8,000 households without power due to de-energized lines. Killion is currently held without bail and is set to appear in court for his arraignment soon.
