Salt Lake Temple to Reopen After Renovations

The Salt Lake Temple, a significant landmark for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, is set to reopen for public tours from April to October 2027 following an extensive renovation. The announcement was made by church President Russell M. Nelson on social media, marking 172 years since the temple's groundbreaking ceremony in 1853. Originally completed in 1893 after 40 years of construction, the temple has been undergoing renovations since December 2019 to enhance its structural integrity against seismic activity. This renovation also includes updates to the temple's infrastructure and surrounding areas. Details on the open house and dedication will be released closer to the event date.
