Authorities in Fond du Lac County are investigating a suspected large-scale deer poaching scheme that spans approximately 200 square miles across Fond du Lac, Dodge, and Washington counties. This investigation was initiated following a tip received in mid-July, which led to the discovery of potential poaching activities believed to have occurred over the past year. The suspects are reported to have targeted the areas between Campbellsport, Waucousta, Lomira, Theresa, West Bend, and Kewaskum, with signs of illegal activity including suspicious vehicles, dead deer with bullet wounds, and gunshot wounds on deer outside of hunting season. The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources are conducting a joint investigation and are urging anyone with relevant information to contact them. Tips can be reported anonymously through local law enforcement channels. Further updates on the investigation and any potential charges will be provided upon its conclusion.
