Redding Parents Charged with 2-Year-Old's Murder

Riley Royal, 28, and Amanda Royal, 24, from Redding, California, have been arrested and charged with the murder of their 2-year-old daughter following extensive abuse. The Shasta County Sheriff’s Office initiated an investigation on January 7, 2024, when deputies found the couple at their residence after they attempted to evade law enforcement. They admitted the child had died in October 2023 and was unlawfully buried near Whiskeytown Recreation Area. A second child in the home was placed in protective custody. The toddler's exhumed body led to a ruling of homicide, and both parents are being held without bail, awaiting arraignment on October 31, 2024. Authorities are seeking further information from the public regarding this case.
