Man Utd Goalkeeper Andre Onana Joins Trabzonspor on Loan

Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana has joined Turkish club Trabzonspor on a season-long loan deal after losing his starting position following a string of poor performances and a hamstring injury during pre-season. The Turkish club will cover Onana's full wages, which are reportedly nearly double what he earned at Manchester United, though there is no option to buy. Onana, who joined United from Inter Milan in July 2023 for a significant fee, made 102 appearances for the club but struggled with form, committing multiple errors and conceding 150 goals, which led to his replacement by Altay Bayindir and the signing of Senne Lammens. Despite being initially told he would be the first-choice goalkeeper for the 2025–26 season, Onana's relationship with head coach Ruben Amorim deteriorated, reportedly after Onana refused to acknowledge the coach in training. Onana was part of the Manchester United squad that won the FA Cup in 2024 but has now moved on loan to seek more playing time. Manchester United wishes him success at Trabzonspor, where he joins for the remainder of the season.
