Namibian President Hage G. Geingob Dies at 82

The President of Namibia, Hage Geingob, has passed away at the age of 82 while receiving cancer treatment in Windhoek. He had been undergoing medical treatment for cancer and had recently returned from the United States for innovative treatment before his death. Geingob was the first president of Namibia outside of the Ovambo ethnic group and a respected leader who led the country to independence from South Africa. His death has led to an outpouring of condolences and tributes from leaders around the world.
