A New York couple, Sulamain Hawkins and Anastasia Weaver, have been charged with manslaughter after their three-month-old baby was fatally mauled by dogs while they smoked marijuana downstairs. The incident occurred on August 3 in Rochester, where the couple left the baby alone in an attic with two pit bull-type dogs. Upon returning, they found the baby severely injured, and he was later pronounced dead at a hospital. Both parents were arrested on Wednesday and arraigned on Thursday, with bail set at $15,000 each. The dogs involved were euthanized following the attack. The couple will appear in court again on August 27.
