Virginia Baseball Named ACC Preseason Favorite

The Virginia Cavaliers have been named the favorites to win the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) in baseball for the 2025 season, receiving 13 of 16 first-place votes and a total of 251 points in the preseason poll. Florida State ranked second, followed by North Carolina and Clemson. This marks the first time since 2015 that Virginia has been picked as the preseason favorite, a year when they won their first national championship. The Cavaliers, who made their seventh College World Series appearance in 2024, will face a competitive schedule as the ACC transitions to a no-division format with new members Stanford and California. Virginia Tech, on the other hand, is projected to finish 12th in the conference as they aim to bounce back from a disappointing previous season. Duke, the defending ACC Tournament champions, were picked fifth in the preseason poll.
