Adrian Meronk wins LIV Golf Riyadh season opener

Adrian Meronk secured his first LIV Golf victory at the season opener in Riyadh, leading wire-to-wire and finishing at 17-under par after a final round of 71. He triumphed by two shots over Jon Rahm, who finished tied for second at 15 under, alongside Colombia's Sebastian Munoz. Meronk's win marks his first since the 2022 Irish Open on the DP World Tour, and he expressed his happiness in achieving this milestone early in the season. The team title went to Rahm's Legion XIII, which finished at 50 under, 11 shots ahead of its nearest competitors. The tournament, held under the lights for the first time, showcased a new format where all four players' scores counted in each round. The next LIV Golf event will take place in Adelaide, Australia, from February 14-16.
