Florence Woman Rescued From Icy Lake
A woman in Florence, Kentucky, was rescued from freezing water after falling through the ice while attempting to save her dogs on Sunday evening. Authorities responded to reports of the incident at around 6:39 p.m. and located her approximately 100 feet from the shore. Officers crawled onto the ice to pull her out of the water, where she had been for about ten minutes, before handing her over to medical personnel. She was taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center and was later released, while her dogs were also successfully rescued and have made a full recovery. The Ohio Department of Natural Resources warned that frozen lakes can be deceptively dangerous, emphasizing that conditions can change rapidly. This incident serves as a reminder of the risks associated with icy bodies of water, particularly following recent snowstorms and freezing temperatures.
