Hyundai Cuts EV Prices Up to $34,000 in Australia Boosting Market Demand

Hyundai has launched significant discounts on its electric vehicle lineup in Australia, with price cuts reaching up to $34,142 on models such as the Ioniq 6 and Inster, aiming to boost Q4 sales amid rising EV market interest. The Ioniq 6 Techniq AWD and Epiq AWD models see reductions of over $30,000, making these advanced EVs more accessible, while the Inster hatchback's price drops below $40,000 for the first time. These discounts coincide with record EV adoption rates in Australia, where EV sales accounted for 11.3% of new car sales in September 2025. Hyundai's upcoming updated Ioniq 6, featuring refreshed styling and new performance variants, is expected to further stimulate demand. Despite these price drops, the Ioniq 6 was not among the top 50 best-selling EVs in Australia in early 2025, with the Ioniq 5 leading Hyundai's local EV sales.
