Bruins' Lindholm Likely Out for Season, McAvoy's Return Undetermined
Boston Bruins general manager Don Sweeney announced that defenseman Hampus Lindholm is unlikely to return for the remainder of the season due to a knee injury that required surgery after he fractured his patella in November. Lindholm has not played since the injury and will undergo a follow-up procedure to remove hardware that has caused irritation during his recovery. Additionally, defenseman Charlie McAvoy remains out indefinitely due to a shoulder injury and infection he sustained while playing for Team USA at the 4 Nations Face-Off. Both injuries are significant setbacks for the Bruins, who are currently fighting for a playoff spot. The team is just one point out of a wild-card position in the Eastern Conference, raising concerns about their postseason prospects. With the trade deadline approaching, the Bruins may need to consider selling assets if their playoff chances diminish further.
