Plane Crash Injures Three at NHRA Finals
A single-engine Piper PA-32 plane crashed near the Pomona Dragstrip during the NHRA Finals, injuring the pilot and three passengers. The crash occurred around 11:10 a.m. on Sunday, as the aircraft was attempting to land at a nearby airport, resulting in moderate to severe injuries for all four individuals on board, though none of the injuries were life-threatening. The aircraft struck several parked vehicles, but thankfully, no bystanders were harmed. Racing events were temporarily halted while emergency crews responded to the crash, with racing expected to resume shortly thereafter. The Federal Aviation Administration is currently investigating the incident to determine the cause of the crash. Video footage from the scene showed damage to vehicles and emergency personnel assisting the injured.
