George Clooney's Broadway Debut in Good Night, and Good Luck
George Clooney will make his Broadway debut in the stage adaptation of 'Good Night, and Good Luck' beginning previews on March 12, 2025, with an opening night scheduled for April 3, 2025, at the Winter Garden Theatre. Clooney, co-writer alongside Grant Heslov, will portray the legendary journalist Edward R. Murrow, previously played by David Strathairn in the 2005 film. Directed by Tony Award-winner David Cromer, the play focuses on Murrow's confrontation with Senator Joseph McCarthy amidst the backdrop of McCarthyism in America. The production follows the critical acclaim of the original film, which earned multiple Oscar nominations, including Best Picture. Presale tickets will be available for American Express cardholders from November 12, with general sales starting on November 15. The play replaces 'Back to the Future', which concludes its run on January 5.
