Final Destination 7 Greenlit After Bloodlines Success
New Line Cinema has greenlit a seventh installment of the Final Destination franchise following the record-breaking success of Final Destination: Bloodlines, which grossed over $286 million worldwide and was released in May after a 14-year hiatus. Bloodlines became the highest-grossing and best-reviewed entry in the series, earning a 93% Rotten Tomatoes score and helping the franchise surpass $983 million globally. The series is now New Line's third-largest horror property after The Conjuring and It. Lori Evans Taylor, co-writer of Bloodlines, will write the new film, with returning producers Craig Perry, Sheila Hanahan Taylor, Jon Watts, Dianne McGunigle, and Toby Emmerich, and Warren Zide as executive producer. The franchise continues to center on survivors being hunted by Death, known for its inventive, elaborate death sequences. No plot details or release date for Final Destination 7 have been announced.
