75th Berlin Film Festival Opens February 13 with Major Premieres

The 75th Berlin International Film Festival will feature Richard Linklater's biopic Blue Moon and Michel Franco's Dreams among the 19 films competing for the Golden Bear, opening with Tom Tykwer's The Light on February 13. Tilda Swinton will receive an Honorary Golden Bear for lifetime achievement at the opening ceremony. The festival, running from February 13 to 23, is set to showcase a diverse lineup, including love stories, comedies, and political dramas, under the direction of new festival head Tricia Tuttle. Notably, Linklater's Blue Moon stars Ethan Hawke as lyricist Lorenz Hart, with Chastain delivering a strong performance in Dreams as a socialite navigating immigration challenges. The competition reflects an international selection, with only a small number of German co-productions represented. The jury this year will be led by U.S. director Todd Haynes.
