Ursa Major, a Colorado-based rocket propulsion company, has secured a $12.5 million investment from the Pentagon's Office of Strategic Capital (OSC) and the U.S. Navy to enhance its solid rocket motor manufacturing capabilities. This funding, matched by Ursa Major, brings the total investment to $25 million and is part of a broader Pentagon strategy to diversify its supplier base amid dwindling stockpiles due to ongoing conflicts in Ukraine and Israel. The investment will support the design, manufacturing, and testing of a solid rocket motor prototype, utilizing innovative 3D printing technologies through Ursa Major's Lynx program. The OSC, established to strengthen critical supply chains, is focusing on fostering public-private investments in defense technologies. Ursa Major is also working on contracts with the U.S. Air Force and has been recognized for its advanced manufacturing methods, which position it as a key player in the defense industrial base.
