K'Lavon Chaisson, a former first-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, has joined the Las Vegas Raiders' practice squad after being released by the Carolina Panthers prior to the season. The 25-year-old linebacker struggled with injuries and performance during his time with the Jacksonville Jaguars and was unable to secure a spot on the Panthers' roster. With the Raiders dealing with injuries to key edge rushers Malcolm Koonce and Tyree Wilson, Chaisson's addition provides much-needed depth to their defensive line. In 2023, he recorded 13 tackles and two sacks while playing all 17 games for the Jaguars. Chaisson's contract with the Panthers was worth up to $5 million but was cut before Week 1. His experience as a three-year starter at LSU and past success as a first-round pick brings potential value to the Raiders' thin pass-rushing group.
