Pocatello Veterans Day Parade Features Capitol Tree

The 28th Annual Veterans Day Parade in Ponca City is scheduled for November 9, featuring a procession to honor military service, with special tributes for Gold Star families and the 80th Anniversary of D-Day. Following the parade, attendees can visit War Memorial Park for military displays, food, and entertainment. In a festive spirit, truck drivers John Schank and Fred Austin are transporting this year's U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree from Alaska, making 11 stops over approximately three weeks, inviting public interaction along the way. Both drivers bring extensive experience, with a combined 100 years on the road, ensuring the safe delivery of the 74-foot tree. Meanwhile, Opelousas, Louisiana, held its own veterans parade on November 7, recognizing local service members with a gathering that celebrated their sacrifices.
