BlackRock Launches Evergreen Private Markets Platform

BlackRock has launched an innovative evergreen private markets platform aimed at wealth investors in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific, marking the first such platform to utilize the European Long-Term Investment Fund (ELTIF) 2.0 framework. The platform offers access to institutional-quality alternative investments, including private equity, multi-alternatives, infrastructure, private debt, and real estate, with an initial minimum investment of €10,000. BlackRock's Chief Product Officer, Stephen Cohen, emphasized the firm's commitment to transforming access to private markets for a broader range of investors. The global alternatives market is projected to exceed $30 trillion by 2030, driven by demand from wealth investors seeking uncorrelated returns. The platform will incorporate a liquidity sleeve for periodic access, thus enhancing its appeal to mass affluent investors. This initiative reflects BlackRock's strategy to stay ahead of evolving client investment needs with innovative solutions.
