"The Karate Kid – The Musical," based on the iconic 1984 film by Robert Mark Kamen, is set to embark on a major UK tour starting April 28, 2026, at the New Wimbledon Theatre before visiting numerous cities including Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool, and Glasgow. The musical reimagines the coming-of-age story of Daniel LaRusso and his mentor Mr. Miyagi through music, movement, and storytelling, emphasizing themes of balance, respect, and perseverance. The production, which premiered to sold-out audiences in St. Louis in 2022, features music and lyrics by Drew Gasparini and is directed by Amon Miyamoto with choreography by Keone and Mari Madrid. A Tony Award-winning creative team is involved, including scenic designer Derek McLane and costume designer Ayako Maeda, aiming to transform cinematic moments into an emotionally charged stage experience.
