Southwest Teens Honored at Boys & Girls Clubs Annual Awards

Several youth recognition events across different regions recently celebrated the achievements and community contributions of young leaders and volunteers. The Boys & Girls Clubs of America's Southwest Youth of the Year event honored 14 candidates for their leadership, service, and academic excellence, with Dallas Cowboys' Jerry Jones receiving a Champion of the Youth Award. In Chatham-Kent, 41 young volunteers were recognized for their dedication to community service at the Youth Community Recognition Awards, emphasizing the importance of volunteerism. The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder celebrated local youth achievements with awards given to young tradespeople, community champions, cultural leaders, and volunteers for their impactful work. Angel Akpovi, Miss Teen Nigeria UK, was honored with a Youth Impact award for her advocacy on issues like knife crime and literacy, as well as her leadership roles in youth organizations. These events collectively highlight the vital role young people play in their communities through leadership, volunteerism, and social activism.
