Oishei Children’s Hospital to Rename Golisano After $50M Donation
Oishei Children's Hospital in Buffalo will be renamed Golisano Children's Hospital of Buffalo in January 2026 following a historic $50 million donation from billionaire philanthropist Tom Golisano, founder of Paychex and former owner of the Buffalo Sabres. This donation, the largest in the hospital’s history and within the Kaleida Health Network, grants Golisano perpetual naming rights and will support program investment and attract top healthcare professionals. The Buffalo hospital will be the fourth to bear the Golisano name, joining facilities in Rochester, Syracuse, and Southwest Florida, enabling closer collaboration and resource sharing among these institutions. Golisano emphasized his commitment to ensuring all children in Buffalo have access to high-quality care regardless of their circumstances, while hospital leaders highlighted the importance of this gift for advancing pediatric health services and community impact. The John R. Oishei Foundation, which previously held the hospital’s naming rights, agreed to relinquish them and will continue supporting community initiatives alongside Kaleida Health. The rebranding also strengthens partnerships, such as with Roswell Park for pediatric oncology, enhancing care availability for Western New York children.
