Shiv Sena (UBT) and Congress Seat-Sharing Tension

Tensions have arisen within the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) in Maharashtra due to disagreements over seat-sharing, particularly between the Shiv Sena (UBT) and Congress. The Shiv Sena (UBT), led by Uddhav Thackeray, has boycotted talks if Maharashtra Congress Chief Nana Patole is involved, as they seek more influence in the Vidarbha region, which Congress is hesitant to cede. Despite a consensus on 260 out of 288 seats, the remaining 28 seats, especially in Vidarbha, remain contentious. Meanwhile, Uddhav Thackeray has engaged in talks with SP leader Akhilesh Yadav to incorporate SP's demands for 12 seats into the MVA alliance. In Jharkhand, the INDIA bloc, comprising JMM, Congress, RJD, and CPI-ML, has seen dissatisfaction from RJD over seat allocations, with RJD threatening to go solo due to perceived unilateral decisions by JMM. The political dynamics in both Maharashtra and Jharkhand reflect ongoing complexities in coalition politics as parties negotiate power-sharing ahead of upcoming elections.
