Shardiya Navaratri and Dasara Begin Nationwide
Shardiya Navaratri and Dasara began across India with large early‑morning gatherings, Kalash/Ghatsthapana rituals, abhishekam and aartis; cities including Nagpur, Kanpur, Patna and Pune reported long queues, decorated shrines, police arrangements and lively garba/dandiya programmes. Kulasekarapattinam’s Sri Mutharamman Temple kicked off Dasara pre‑celebrations with Kaali puja, early sanctum rites, flag processions and daily abhishekams leading up to Soorasamhaaram on Oct. 2 and car processions on Oct. 3. Devotees are observing day‑specific worship, fasting, astrologically guided remedies and household traditions such as golu displays and special bhogs. Authorities extended security and crowd arrangements at major Durga temples where thousands queued for Kalash/Ghatsthapna, abhishekam and mangala aarti ceremonies. Vinayaka Chaturthi will be observed during Navratri on Sept. 25, 2025, and Day 3 worship centers on Maa Chandraghanta, with devotees offering jasmine, chanting her mantra and preparing Sabudana kheer for protection and prosperity.
