Anya Taylor-Joy, known for her role in Netflix’s Queen’s Gambit, has expressed a strong interest in playing Elsa in a live-action adaptation of Disney's Frozen. In multiple interviews, including with Vogue Hong Kong and BBC Radio One, the 28-year-old actress shared her enthusiasm for the character, stating it would be fun to shoot ice from her hands and would make her a favorite at children's parties, impressing her nieces and nephews. Taylor-Joy, who has a background in dance, is drawn to the challenge of a musical role that requires singing, dancing, and acting. She previously turned down a Disney Channel pilot for her breakout role in The Witch, but remains eager for the opportunity to work with Disney in the future. While there are currently no confirmed plans for a live-action Frozen, Disney is working on a third installment of the animated series, set for release in 2027.
