Man in His 50s Dies After Hobart Hit-and-Run

A man in his 50s has died following a suspected hit-and-run incident on Swanston Street in Hobart’s New Town. He was found unconscious with severe torso and neck injuries around 2:50 am on Friday and was later pronounced dead at the Royal Hobart Hospital after emergency surgery. Police believe he was struck by a 4WD vehicle, which has since been seized for forensic examination. Two individuals allegedly in the vehicle are assisting with the investigation, but no charges have been filed yet. Detective Inspector David Gill has urged anyone with information to come forward as the investigation continues. Multiple inquiries, including CCTV analysis and door knocking, are underway to determine the man's movements prior to the incident.
