Josh Hannay has been appointed as the new head coach of the Gold Coast Titans on a three-year deal starting in 2026, following the departure of Des Hasler. Hasler, who was sacked after poor team performance and a last-place finish in the 2025 season, will coach the Titans for the remaining two games before stepping down. Hannay, previously an assistant coach at Cronulla Sharks and with the Queensland State of Origin team, is highly regarded for his player development skills and aims to be the first coach to deliver NRL success to the Gold Coast. His appointment is part of a major restructuring of the Titans' football department, which also includes the return of NRL legend Scott Sattler as director of football. Titans CEO Steve Mitchell praised Hannay's thoroughness, vision, and strong relationships with players, expressing confidence in his potential to bring sustained success to the club.
