H-E-B Breaks Ground on Two New Stores

H-E-B has commenced construction on two new grocery stores in the Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) Metroplex, specifically in Murphy and the Mid-Cities area, both expected to open in 2026. The Murphy store will cover 122,000 square feet, while the Mid-Cities store will be slightly larger at 126,000 square feet, featuring amenities such as True Texas BBQ restaurants, drive-thru pharmacies, and fuel stations. This expansion reflects H-E-B's ongoing commitment to enhance its presence in North Texas, having opened several stores in the region since 2021. Euless Mayor Linda Martin and Bedford Mayor Dan Cogan highlighted the anticipated economic benefits and job creation associated with the new location. The rapid expansion of H-E-B also places it in competition with other major retailers in the area, including Walmart and Kroger. H-E-B plans to continue its growth with additional store openings, including a Central Market specializing in organic foods and a new Joe V's location.
