Leap Secures $65 Million to Expand Global EdTech Presence

Leap, an edtech platform specializing in international student services, has successfully raised $65 million in a funding round led by Apis Partners, with participation from existing investors including Owl Ventures, Jungle Ventures, and Peak XV Partners. The funding will support Leap's expansion into new markets such as Taiwan, China, and Malaysia, while also enhancing its product offerings through AI. Founded in 2019, Leap operates multiple brands including LeapScholar and LeapFinance, offering services like test preparation, admissions counseling, and education loans to students pursuing studies abroad. The company, which has raised over $200 million in total funding, claims to serve over 1 million students and collaborates with more than 1,000 educational institutions globally. Despite challenges posed by a weakening rupee driving up costs for Indian students, Leap continues to position itself as a leader in the study abroad sector, experiencing significant growth since its last funding round. Co-founder Arnav Kumar highlighted the role of AI in improving the efficiency of information access for students as a key focus moving forward.
