Suspect Arrested in Morgan Hill Homicide

A fatal shooting occurred Wednesday morning in Morgan Hill, marking the city's first homicide of 2024. Police responded to reports of a shooting at 7:10 a.m. on the 100 block of Tennant Avenue, where they found an adult male victim with gunshot wounds. Despite efforts to administer CPR, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The suspect, identified as 30-year-old Jesus Garcia, was arrested shortly after by police, who were alerted by witnesses in the area. The motive behind the shooting remains under investigation, and authorities have stated there is no ongoing threat to the community. The victim's identity will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office at a later time.
