Girls Arrested for Assault Outside Union Station

Two girls, ages 11 and 13, have been arrested for a violent assault on a woman outside Union Station in Washington, D.C. The attack, involving a group of youths, was recorded and circulated on social media, where one girl encouraged the continued assault. Bystanders attempting to intervene were also attacked, but no serious injuries were reported. D.C. police identified and arrested the two girls, charging them with assault with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to riot, simple assault, and disorderly conduct. Police Chief Pamela A. Smith emphasized a zero-tolerance policy for such behavior and urged the community to ensure young people do not engage in such actions. Authorities are investigating potential connections to other similar incidents.
