Authorities have intensified their crackdown on drug trafficking in India, leading to multiple arrests and significant seizures of ganja across various states. In Hyderabad, a gang of five was apprehended with 12 kg of ganja and various vehicles, while in Madurai, four men received 20 years of rigorous imprisonment for smuggling 951 kg of the substance. In another operation, the Rajendranagar police arrested five inter-state peddlers in possession of 254 kg of dry ganja and a firearm, revealing a network supplying drugs from Araku to Uttar Pradesh and Mumbai. The police also reported that one suspect managed to evade capture, prompting ongoing efforts to apprehend him. Investigations indicate that many of these gangs source their drugs from the Andhra-Odisha border, exploiting the region for illegal trade. These actions reflect the authorities' commitment to combating drug smuggling in the region.
