Lowry, who had faced pressure to sever ties with the company, stated that he cannot imagine the suffering experienced by those families and called the situation a 'touchy subject'. While Kingspan was not directly responsible for the fire, it was accused of misleading marketing practices concerning its K15 insulation. Lowry's announcement comes ahead of the Amgen Irish Open, where he reiterated his commitment to not discuss the matter further. The Grenfell United group welcomed Lowry's decision, having previously criticized him for his continued association with Kingspan.
