Man of Tomorrow Slated for July 9, 2027

James Gunn's Superman sequel Man of Tomorrow is in development and is expected to pit Superman and Lex Luthor against a shared, possibly planetary, threat — a setup that has fueled speculation Brainiac could be the villain. Frequent Gunn collaborator Chukwudi Iwuji, an early fancast for Brainiac, said he would "absolutely" take the role if Gunn called but confirmed there have been no official talks and that he initially denied the rumor for contractual reasons. Gunn has remained coy about the film's antagonist. Man of Tomorrow is currently scheduled for a theatrical release on July 9, 2027.
