Zach Cregger Clarifies DC 'Henchman' Script Details, Denies Joker Connection

Zach Cregger, director of the horror films Barbarian and Weapons, has written a script titled Henchmen set in the DC Universe, but he has clarified that much of the speculation about the project is inaccurate. Although the story reportedly involves low-level Gotham henchmen and features characters like Batman, Joker, and Harley Quinn, Cregger emphasized that it is not a Joker and Harley Quinn script and that he has not discussed the project with DC Studios or James Gunn. He also noted that the online rumors have blown the details out of proportion and that he is currently focused on directing a new Resident Evil movie, which is scheduled to begin shooting in fall 2025 and release in theaters in September 2026. Despite Henchmen being one of his favorite scripts, Cregger indicated that it remains a distant possibility, as he has other projects ahead of it. The film is described as a unique and standalone DC Studios project, distinct from typical superhero movies. Cregger's comments aim to temper expectations while highlighting his enthusiasm for the script and his current commitments.
