Orthodox Jewish Passenger Sues United Airlines Over Bathroom Incident

Yisroel Liebb, an Orthodox Jewish passenger, has filed a federal lawsuit against United Airlines and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security after an incident on a January 28 flight from Tulum, Mexico, to Houston. The lawsuit alleges that a pilot forcibly removed Liebb from the airplane bathroom, exposing him to fellow passengers while he was still in a vulnerable state due to constipation. Following the incident, he and another traveler were handcuffed and subjected to humiliating treatment by Customs and Border Protection officers, who allegedly denied them their rights. The pilot reportedly made anti-Semitic remarks during the altercation, claiming he would have them arrested for their behavior. United Airlines has declined to comment on the situation, while messages to the Department of Homeland Security remain unanswered.
