Turkey Egypt Urge Muslim Unity Against Israel Gaza Takeover Plan

Turkey's Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan called for Muslim nations to unite and mobilize international opposition against Israel's plan to take control of Gaza City, describing it as a new phase of expansionist and genocidal policies. Speaking alongside Egypt's Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty after talks with President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, Fidan emphasized that the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has convened an emergency meeting to address the issue. Both Turkey and Egypt condemned Israel's actions, accusing Israel of aiming to force Palestinians out through starvation and permanent occupation, a claim Israel denies. The OIC warned that Israel's plan constitutes a dangerous escalation and a violation of international law that threatens peace efforts. Egypt and Turkey highlighted their strategic alignment and cooperation in humanitarian aid, with over 100,000 tons of aid sent to Gaza. Mediating efforts from Egypt, Qatar, and the United States continue to seek a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas amid the escalating conflict.
