Moroccan Forces Thwart Migration Attempts to Ceuta

Moroccan security forces successfully thwarted attempts by groups seeking to breach the border into Spain's Ceuta following social media calls for mass migration. No individuals managed to cross the border, as Moroccan and Spanish authorities reported a strong security presence, including the arrest of 60 individuals inciting migration attempts online. Since January, Moroccan authorities have stopped over 45,000 migration attempts, with significant activity noted in August, where over 11,000 attempts were recorded near Ceuta. The Spanish Interior Ministry praised Morocco's efforts in managing the situation and noted that cooperation between the two nations has been effective in preventing irregular entries. Increased security measures included surveillance and the potential intermittent closure of the Trajal border to control migrant traffic.
