Bleecker Street Acquires US Rights to Victorian Psycho for 2026 Release

Bleecker Street has acquired U.S. distribution rights to the psychological horror-thriller Victorian Psycho, directed by Zachary Wigon and starring Maika Monroe, Jason Isaacs, and Thomasin McKenzie, with production underway in Ireland and a planned theatrical release in 2026. The film, adapted from Virginia Feito's novel which she also scripted, is set in 1858 Victorian England and follows a governess with psychopathic tendencies who arrives at a remote gothic manor, where mysterious disappearances prompt suspicion. Originally set to be released by A24 with Margaret Qualley starring, the project shifted to Bleecker Street after A24 dropped it post-production start, with Monroe replacing Qualley due to scheduling conflicts. The film is produced by Dan Kagan and Sebastien Raybaud, fully financed by Anton, which also handles international rights. Bleecker Street CEO Kent Sanderson expressed confidence in the film's unique and thrilling vision, aligning with the company's focus on supporting diverse and impactful genre films. This acquisition complements Bleecker Street's 2025 slate, which includes other genre and thriller titles.
