Zach Cregger Plans Gotham Henchman Movie Featuring Batman, Joker, Harley Quinn

Zach Cregger, acclaimed director of the horror film Weapons, has written a script for a potential DC movie titled Henchmen that centers on a low-level Gotham City henchman who accidentally incapacitates Batman, gaining notoriety in the city's criminal underworld. The film is described as an original story set in the DC Universe but is not a traditional superhero movie, with brief appearances expected from Batman, Joker, and Harley Quinn. Despite Cregger's enthusiasm, the project has not yet been pitched to DC Studios, and its progress faces challenges due to the absence of castings for Batman and Joker in the current DCU, as well as coordination required with Matt Reeves’ The Batman universe. Cregger is currently focused on directing Resident Evil and a sci-fi film, with Henchmen planned as a future project.
