Cary Man Dies After Attempted Kidnapping, Pursuit
A 32-year-old man from Cary, Illinois, died by suicide after allegedly attempting to kidnap two teenage girls near Fox River Road and North Harvest Glen Road. The masked suspect approached the girls as they walked home, prompting them to flee and alert one girl's father and brother. When the family members located the suspect, he blocked their vehicle and brandished a firearm, leading them to call 911. Law enforcement from McHenry and Lake counties attempted to stop the suspect, who then shot himself in a parking lot near Crystal Lake Road and Foxford Drive. The teens were unharmed, and authorities commended their actions in escaping and seeking help. Separate agencies are investigating the attempted kidnapping and the suspect's death.
